Don’t forget to bring a bottle of brew for the raffle if you want in.

If you have a beer that you want reviewed, bring a bottle and submit it to the Judge Dread program to get it evaluated according to BJCP standards. You’ll get a scoresheet with feedback to let you know what you got right and what you missed. This is a good way to find out where your beer stands, and is a great way to improve your brewing.

AHA Big Brew 2013

AHA Big Brew is a celebration of National Homebrew Day. Each year homebrewers around the world invite family and friends to their brewing site on the first Saturday in May to celebrate the holiday. Everyone is encouraged to help out with the brew, enjoy the fun and join us for a world-wide toast at noon CDT.

We look forward to having you come out and join us for an all-day group brew session and world-wide toast at noon. If you plan to brew, you can brew a recipe of your choosing, or use one of the AHA’s recommended recipes.

The Hop Experience

On April 21st, we’ll be hosting our 1st “Hop Experience.” Link to map, directions & details at the bottom of the post.

The Hop Experience is an opportunity to learn the profile of 9 different hops. We will be dry hopping an 18-pack of standard, commercial beer with nine different hops and recapping the beer a week prior to the event. This will be an awesome time for you to experience first-hand and make notes on the aromas and flavors each hop provides.

We will be tasting the following hops:
Willamette, US Golding, Cluster, US Saaz, Apollo, Amarillo, Cascade, Mt. Hood & CTZ.
