Who Are We?
First and foremost, Clarksville Carboys is its members. With out our
dedicated brewers we would just be three guys with a website and that's
not so much fun. So here's to you members, CHEERS!
The story of how we started goes something like this. James Visger and
Roland Clavet were in the U.S. Army together and became best friends.
Years later after Roland was out of the military he started homebrewing
as a bet at work. His first beer was sooo malty, it was not very popular.
His second batch was an "Australian Wheat" (now known as "The Grail")
which was phenomenal. This beer got James involved in the hobby as
well. The rest is history.
John came along in October of 2004 courting Roland's daughter Cinzia.
John became good friends with his soon to be (and now is) father-in-law
and his friend James. John started to homebrew with the men and
eventually started to brew on his own as well!
One day Roland was talking about this great idea of starting a
homebrewing club in Clarksville, TN (where we all live) since one didn't
exist. John and his wife moved away for a while and everything was put
on hold. When they returned John decided that he was going to make
getting the homebrewing club up and running his personal project...
And this is where we are today!
Currently we have about 12 members and more are coming every month.
